Extendware Custom Order Status Email Templates Magento Extension Review
In the following post, we describe how to simplify order status email templates management with the help of the corresponding Magento extension by Extendware. The Extendware Custom Order Status Email Templates Magento module provides the ability to set different templates for various statuses, guests and registered users, as well as different store views.
Magento order status email templates are absolutely inflexible, but we know how to solve the problem. Install the Custom Order Status Email Templates Magento extension by Extendware and you will essentially improve the default mechanism. It provides different templates for different order statuses, so there is no need to create one template that will be suitable for all statuses. As mentioned above, even guests and registered users can be related to different templates. The same is about store views. So, let’s have a look at the extension’s features:
- Different Templates For Different Order Statuses. It is even possible to assign new templates to statuses created manually under System -> Custom Statuses.
- Guest And Registered Users. As mentioned above. Different email templates can be assigned to guests and already registered users.
- Store Views. Besides, the module supports multiple store views, so each one can get its own template.
Backend
To create a new transactional email, go to System -> Transaction Emails. All transaction emails are gathered in a grid here. Next, you should click the Add New Template button.
Select the Order Status Changed template on the newly appeared screen. Alternatively, this page enables you to create a custom template, but for our example we don’t describe this procedure. Click Load Template to fill in the below fields with the predefined content.
Now, you can modify the template customizing it according to your requirements. Don’t forget to click Save.
The next step requires assigning a template to an order status. All statuses are listed under Extendware -> Extensions -> Order Status Email Templates -> Email Templates. Select any row from the grid.
Now, you can set new templates for each store view.
A new order status can be created under Extendware -> Extensions -> Order Status Email Templates -> Order Statuses. You just have to click Create New Status: specify Status Code and Status Label. Next, you can add store view specific labels.
By clicking Assign Status you will be able to add templates to the newly created status.
Final Words
As you can see, the module is extremely admin-friendly, and at the same time it dramatically improves the default capabilities of the Magento platform. As a result, you get a better tool for informing your customers.
