PrestaShop is a free and open source solution for e-commerce stores. Among its supported payment gateways are DirecPay, Authorize.Net, Google Checkout, Skrill and, of course, PayPal. The system contains over 250 features and more than 1000 add-ons for different areas of activity. The main features of PrestaShop are:

Both Magento and PrestaShop are open-source and highly customizable solutions. They also have a lot of SEO benefits (Magento has more thanks to system of targeted merchandising and promotion). With Magento you also get multiple payment options and shipping. On the other hand, PrestaShop includes different features, which make site management more easy. Magento is harder to install, customize and operate; it has higher system requirements. PrestaShop is almost twice cheaper to maintenance per month. It supports 40 languages with full support for English and French only. Another drawback is the lack of official support team.

OpenCart is also open source project. The system is based on PHP, and it is free with customizable design extended functionality (different extensions can be used for this purpose). With OpenCart you get easy to use, feature rich and search engine friendly e-commerce solution, which has solid and simple content management tool designed for non-product pages. Content management of OpenCart is less developed than in Magento or even PrestaShop. The system has user friendly administration panel but basic theming. Both OpenCart and PrestaShop are less search engine friendly than Magento, but they are highly developed with all the necessary features. Eventually, Magento is not only more popular, it is more mature and complex solution with strong community.
